Weight Loss and Health
Obesity and weight issues affect nearly 50% of American adults and can cause or contribute to a wide variety of other health issues, including diabetes, arthritis, cardiac (heart) issues, cancer and much more. While there are a multitude of weight loss programs available, including some that can be very successful, we have found that many people may lose weight only to eventually gain it back. Over our two decades of experience in treating patients dealing with weight issues, we have realized that the key to losing weight and keeping it off is this: we must find the missing piece of the puzzle.
Weight issues can be hormonal or metabolic, and we work closely with our patients to determine the causes of weight issues and develop customized treatment plans designed to ensure optimal success in losing weight and keeping it off, for life!!

How can Endocrinologists Help With Obesity and Weight Loss?
While we realize that food is a source of joy for many of our patients, our medical weight loss program is geared toward reduction in food intake, along with establishment of a healthy diet. However, we want our patients to find joy through other avenues such as relaxation, yoga, massage, and exercise. We understand that stress often plays a key role in a person’s diet so, while we can’t make your life stress free, we want to help you find healthy and productive ways to channel stress to avoid emotional or fatigued eating. We utilize a blended approach to weight loss that may include FDA approved diet medicine, diet planning, lifestyle change, and meal replacement. Our weight loss program works with adjunctive therapy, which includes professional massage therapy, yoga instructors, and personal trainers who can help ensure short-term results and long-term success in meeting your weight loss goals.
Over the years, we have heard every explanation for a failure to lose weight and keep it off:
- I’m under a lot of stress and that makes me eat a lot
- I lost weight and was doing fine until a major stressor (death in family, car accident, job stress, etc.) happened, and then I fell off the wagon
- I just don’t have time to exercise or eat healthy
- I can’t afford the healthy foods or expensive gym memberships
We understand the role that stress plays in making it difficult to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, which is why our program is structured around helping you react to stress in healthy ways, ensuring that a stressful life won’t ruin your successful effort to lose weight.
